The other kind of angler is the new fly fisher because this is just a plain fun read and like a 'how to' manual because of how easy it is to read. This is an absolute must have book for your library. Very well written and easy to read. Great information for newbie fly fishers and some reminders for the more skilled anglers. I love this book because it is has something for everybody. Reading the book felt like I was actually in a lodge somewhere. Dave, Steve and a group of fly fishers just talking shop and everything fly fishing.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who has a passion for fly fishing no matter your skill level.
Some useful advice but much of the book is very basic - mostly for beginners I would guess. Some of the humor is enjoyable but I wouldn't buy it again if given the choice.
Just as their podcast is easy listening, this book is a quick and easy read. I think everyone will find at least a few tips to help them catch more fish. Throughly enjoyable.
The lists are interesting and informative. I like to read with my coffee in the morning and lists are like little shortbread cookies; just one right after the other.
Interesting concept that I have not seen before. Useful, easy book for beginning fly fishers. The two authors demonstrate a great rapport.
I love this book. It is an easy and valuable read. The authors have loads of wisdom to share but do not take themselves too seriously. The lists are fun and helpful and the tone is engaging. It makes a great gift book - I bought five - one for each of my fishing brothers and nephews.
If you listen to the authors' pod cast you can hear their voice in this book.This is a great fly fishing book for beginners to long experienced anglers. The book is witty, thoughtful, and self deprecating. That's part of the fun of fly fishing...if you can't laugh at yourself and your situations, you won't last long! Fun read and well worth the time to apply what they teach!
